Minister of Music
M.J. Gallop has been leading music ministries in churches for over 15 years.
A native of Mississippi, M.J. received a Bachelor of Music degree from Mississippi College. He pursued graduate study at Baylor University, completing the Master of Music degree and a Master of Divinity degree from Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary.
At FCC M.J. serves as organist/pianist, directs the choir, co-leads children’s music, and is the primary leader of congregational singing. In addition to his duties at FCC, M.J. is a Project Specialist in the Center for Performing Arts Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital.
M.J. is married to Nate, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Texas Children’s Hospital. Together, they enjoy cooking, traveling, and being the proud parents of two rambunctious toddlers.
M.J. is particularly passionate about congregational singing and the role of music and liturgy in faith formation.
