Meal Prep at the Naim-Newton Residence and setup/serving at John Knox Church
Raise Up Families is an organization that works to help the children of homeless families by assisting families through extensive case management over a nine -month period. These families are supported in providing a stable home environment so the children can remain in their same school and learn to their full potential. 41% of US homeless are families with children. Homeless children are twice as likely to be chronically absent from school which leads to being held back a grade. Once those children are held back they are four times more likely to drop out of school altogether.
In July, we will be preparing a meal to support their parenting class. We will meet at KeiCee Newton’s home to prepare a dinner which will be delivered to John Knox Church (2525 N. Gessner Rd., 77080). If you can’t make it but would like to contribute, we would gratefully receive paper plates, cups, napkins, and disposable cutlery.
Please RSVP to Krysia at Krysia@fcchouston.org or 919-636-1137 and Dianne Bub at email@example.com for any questions.
