Worship at FCC

Worship is the central act of the church. Weekly we gather as a faith community to focus, to center, to acknowledge God as the core of all life and the ground of our being. WE celebrate life as a gift, we give thanks for all blessings and all life’s moments, and we seek courage for the journey.

Worship at the First Congregational Church is an integrated experience:

  • Here, you will discover that our faith is 2000 years old but our thinking is not

  • Here, our heart and mind, intellect and spirit meet

  • Here, worship is traditionally grounded yet refreshingly creative

  • Here, music engages our non-rational side, encompassing a variety of styles

  • Here, preaching feeds the spirit as it re-interprets the scripture contextually

  • Here, we don’t have to stop thinking, or leave our brains at the door

  • Here, worship inspires the spiritual journey of each individual and the community

  • Here, worship challenges us for service and for making a difference in the world

  • Here, God is still speaking…

This year we are embracing a Year of Gratitude

In these uncertain times when our lives are filled with concern and anxiety, when life’s pace is hectic and the journey overwhelming, we want to center ourselves in gratitude as we commit ourselves to live with awareness of our gifts and blessings.

We are aware that gratitude can lift up one’s heart, nurture one’s spirit, spread it around and acknowledge God/the Divine/the Universe as the source of all good gifts.

We are also aware that the spiritual journey is unique and different for each person and that “one size does not fit all.” Our personal convictions, our spiritual experiences may be different, each of us may be at a different place on life’s journey, but all are welcome to join this path of gratitude toward wholeness.
