Minister of Music
M.J. Gallop has been leading music ministries in churches for over 15 years, cultivating the musical gifts of all ages within congregations while drawing from diverse styles and forms.
M.J. Gallop previously served as Director of Worship and Music Ministries at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church in Katy. Prior to that, he served as the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church, Valley Mills. A native of Mississippi, M.J. received a Bachelor of Music degree from Mississippi College. He pursued graduate study at Baylor University, completing the Master of Music degree and a Master of Divinity degree from Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. M.J. is married to Nate, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Texas Children’s Hospital. Together, they enjoy cooking, traveling, and hanging out at home with their dog, Oscar.
M.J. is particularly passionate about the role of music and liturgy in faith formation and the fostering of a robust culture of congregational singing.
