Congratulations to Maggie Tucker for 40 years as a commissioned minister.  Maggie is our very own Minister of Music Emerita.  She is one of the first Commissioned Ministers of Music in the United Church of Christ. Maggie was FCCs music director for twenty years before she retired.  She co-edited our hymnal Hymns of Truth & Light, now in use in over ninety congregations across the country.

For those of you who don’t know Maggie, she is a composer of choral and handbell music, as well as of hymn tunes, with more than eighty compositions in print. Her handbell compositions have won area and national composition contests. She has served as conductor and/or clinician for numerous local, state, area, national and international handbell festivals and seminars. Her hymn tunes appear in publications by Hope Publishing Co. and Selah Publishing Co., in the 2005 revision of the Church of Scotland’s Church Hymnary, as well as in Hymns of Truth & Light.
