Similarities, Not Differences, Light Path to Peace

If you visited FCC's Peace Village February 6, you quickly realized that the six major religions of the world have a firm hold on important principals of successful living.  They all desire peace.

All faiths also express the Golden Rule in one way or another:

The Baha'i Faith tells us to treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated.

Buddhism says, Hurt not others with that which pains you.

Christianity's version:  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Hinduism:  Treat others as you would yourself be treated.

Islam asks us to:  Live in harmony, for we are all related.

Judaism says, What you yourself hate, do to no man.

They Stayed, Talked and Learned

With representatives of six religions sharing details of their faiths, visitors obviously enjoyed the learning experience.  Few left early. Every exhibit offered something of interest besides information:  crafts, religious objects to touch and food to sample, engaging adults and kids alike.

Anchoring each religion's display was a gigantic fabric banner with a representative symbol.  Judging by comments, these will be visiting other peace exhibits around town.
