Confirmation Class on their Retreat to Galveston

Confirmation Class (generally grade 9) meets twice a month, every 1st and 3rd Sunday. Confirmation is the process by which our young people affirm their Christian baptism and become members of First Congregational Church (FCC). Over a 9-month process through retreats, twice-monthly Sunday gatherings (11:30 AM—1:30 PM), and visitations to other churches and even other faiths, the Confirmands are challenged to think through the Christian faith while exploring its deep heritage. Topics covered include such items as Christian beliefs, the history and polity of First Congregational Church and the United Church of Christ, Christian history (warts and all), the meaning(s) of Jesus of Nazareth, as well as many other important aspects of the Christian faith. The FCC model is very experientially based, encouraging thoughtful dialogue and discernment by the Confirmands, while also sharing with them the basis of our Christian faith and hope.

Leaders of the program, Phil and Teddy Hardy, both of whom are available to answer your questions.
