School Kit  Projects

The South Central Conference Annual meeting will be hosted by the New Orleans Association, June 4-6. All churches are asked to help out by putting together kits for the Church World Service School Kit program. These school kits give children in impoverished schools, refugee camps or other difficult settings some basic tools for learning. Items needed for each kit are: 1 pair of blunt scissors; 3 spiral notebooks of about 70 pages each; 1 ruler (inches and metric); 1 hand-held pencil sharpener; one large eraser; 6 unsharpened pencils with erasers; 1 box of 24 crayons.

Items should be placed in a plastic bag and put in the box in the Assembly Hall, labeled CWS School Kits. All donations should be in by May 23 to allow time for shipping. Contact Ken if you have any questions.
