This counseling ministry is intended as a service for those who seek
psychological/emotional healing and growth. Sometimes an individual or a
family experiences stress from loss, a critical event, or from difficulty in
finding balance among the commitments in our busy contemporary life. A
person may be experiencing a spiritual crisis or simply need help problem
solving. We provide counseling for individuals, couples, groups, and
families.
The Counselor
Sylvia Richards, Ph.D., Minister of Counseling and Community Life, is a
Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist, with thirty years of experience in private practice, agencies,
hospitals and churches. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
How to Receive this Service
Call 713.461.7650 and give your name and number. The counselor will return
your call as soon as possible and set up an appointment and/or give you the
information you need.
Cost
Counseling fees are based on a sliding scale, determined by family income
and family size. The fee is discussed in the first session so that you know
in advance what the cost will be.
Location
The Center for Counseling and Education is located at First Congregational
Church, 10840 Beinhorn Road at Brogden. The counseling office is on the west
side of the Meeting House and has its own private entrance, which is
accessible from the Brogden parking area.
